Healthy Vegan Fridays #26

Healthy Vegan Friday
Happy Healthy Vegan Friday! I hope you like the holiday-themed HVF logo that my co-host Kimmy coerced me into making. She’s realllly into holidays. I’m pretty much only into Halloween, and not much into Christmas, which is why I have managed to somehow bring Halloween into Christmas this week. First, I will be attending a goth tea party on Saturday, for which I made some adorable kalamata olive crackers that I hope to share with you soon.
Then Kimmy and I had a Nightmare before Christmas themed potluck to make up for the fact that we didn’t have a Halloween party, where I made vegan, gluten-free red velvet cupcakes that weren’t very good, so I won’t be sharing this recipe on my blog, but everyone else seemed to like them, so that’s what matters.
Vegan Thanksgiving 2014
But just to prove that Halloween isn’t the only holiday I celebrate, here’s a recap of my Thanksgiving I spent in Atlanta making vegan Thanksgiving dinner with my friend Chelsie. Here are some pictures from my Thanksgiving in Atlanta. Yes, I am a full-grown adult who brings her doll to the dinner table. Here is Emily with mac-n-cheese bites to her left, and mashed potatoes, yams, and cauliflower to her right.
Here’s Emily again with my pumpkin cheesecake bear, which I was told by Michael (the muggle), tasted nothing like non-vegan pumpkin cheesecake, but was still good. He ate like 12, so whatever.
Goodbye Goodbye
On Tuesday night, I baked the biggest chocolate chip cookie I have ever baked in my life. David was scared of it and backed away from it when I offered him a bite.
On Wednesday night, I baked red velvet cookies that hang off the edge of your teacup. I’ll be using these to make cookie sandwiches for the vegan cookie exchange this Saturday.
Then, I made homemade deodorant for the first time. And I used it today and it actually works! So exciting!
I hope some of this week’s healthy vegan recipes will be holiday themed! I don’t celebrate Christmas, but I do celebrate solstice, and I plan to make some yummy nog, pumpkin pie, and whipped cream to bring over to my dad’s house.
Soooo, this is the final week for me to be co-hosting HVF with Kimmy. It was a fun experience and a good excuse for us to get together once a week and blog together. But let’s be real…I’m probably not healthy enough to be cohosting this linkup. I think it’s time we stop pretending I’m someone I’m not, haha.
